Evolving technology is calling for innovations in each and every field and that includes automobiles. Every other day, we see automobile manufacturers launching either new models or new and updated versions of the existing models. The latest company to work on the similar lines is Tata, which has launched the latest model of its highly successful car - Indica. To be known by the name of Indica Vista, the new model was unveiled to the public on 22 August 2008, in the 'City of Dreams' - Mumbai.
Tata Indica Vista comes across a complete makeover of the original Indica and will provide customers with a warranty of 24 months. The new model will be available in as many as seven colors and you will be able to lay hands on it through 170 dealerships. There will be seven different versions of the new models, which will have a launch price (ex-showroom Delhi) of somewhere between Rs. 3.49 lakh and Rs. 4.88 lakh. All the seven versions will be powered by a range of internationally acclaimed powertrains.
The entry level version of Indica Vista will be 1.2 L petrol Safire, which will have a price tag of Rs. 3.49 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). On the other end of the spectrum will be 1.3L Quadrajet, which will require you to shell out Rs. 4.88 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). As per Rajiv Dubey - President, Passenger Cars Division, Tata Motors; the project of bringing out Tata Indica Vista, along with the new Tata Indigo, has cost the company around Rs. 1,700 crore in the various facilities at Tata Motors and Ranjangaon.
Rajiv Dubey also hinted at the company's plans to take Indica Vista to the international market, with its export starting only after six months. The new model is said to be packed with all the good features of Indica. The launch of the new model does not mean goodbye to the existing one. The Indica presently in the market will continue to be available, in four models. These will include lower versions of the 1.2 L Xeta and the 1.4 L naturally aspirated IDI diesel and one version each of the Dicor and TCIC diesel.
